Your Pet's Health is in Good Hands

At Blue Oaks Veterinary Clinic, your pet's health is our number one priority.  We provide high quality veterinary care to small animals, exotics, and avian species in Roseville and the greater Sacramento area.

The Blue Oaks Veterinary Team is committed to keeping your pet healthy year-round, that's why we recommend biannual wellness exams.

Vaccinations are important to keep your pet healthy, as well as your human family.  At Blue Oaks Veterinary Clinic we offer a variety of vaccines and vaccine schedules that will be individually tailored to your pet's needs and life style.

At Blue Oaks Veterinary Clinic, we are passionate about dental health and prevention of painful periodontal disease.  We have invested in state-of-the-art dental equipment, including digital dental radiographs, to keep your pet's mouth healthy.  While we can address and cure advanced dental disease and infections, our philosophy is to prevent these problems with routine anesthetic dental cleanings.

In addition to routine spaying and neutering, Blue Oaks Veterinary Clinic veterinarians perform a full range of routine and emergency surgeries on dog, cat, and exotic species.  In the event that a board certified surgeon is needed, we have a partnership with a local surgeon who will come and perform specialty surgeries in our clinic so your pet stays under the care of it's primary care veterinarian in an environment they are comfortable in.

Dr. Thompson and Dr. Cabrera standig together outside of clinic.

Blue Oaks Veterinary Clinic was founded by Dr. Omar Cabrera and Dr. Aileen Thompson in 2017.  After working together at another local clinic for five years, Drs. Cabrera and Thompson merged their dreams of practice ownership to create Blue Oaks Veterinary Clinic.  Our goal is to treat you and your animals as our family, and to provide high quality medical care with state-of-the-art equipment to small animals, exotics, and avian species in Roseville and the greater Sacramento area.

Dr. Thompson, DVM

Dr. Thompson has always loved animals and dreamed of becoming a veterinarian since childhood.  As a young girl, she told tall tales of adventures she went on with her imaginary friend Ozzy the Owl and grew tadpoles secretly into frogs in her closet, much to her mother's dismay.

Dr. Thompson grew up in Folsom, CA and her other passion beside animals was for basketball.  In high school, Dr. Thompson juggled maintaining honor roll grades, playing competitive basketball, and always having a part-time job cleaning kennels at a local veterinary clinic.

Dr. Thompson moved out of state for undergraduate college and attended Colorado State University, where she got her degree in Zoology in 2002.  She worked through college part-time at the CSUS Veterinary Teaching Hospital and as an Animal Control Officer for the local humane society.  After undergraduate, Dr. Thompson moved back home and worked as a full time veterinary techinican at a small animal clinic, until her drive to become a veterinarian moved her to the West Indies to attend veterinary school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Thompson completed her veterinary education at Oklahoma State University in 2012 and moved back home to take a small animal and exotic associate veterinarian position near her hometown in Roseville, CA.

Dr. Thompson's special interests include feline medicine and surgery, dentistry and behavior.  When she isn't working, Dr. Thompson enjoys sports, theater, and camping.

Dr. Thompson lives in Roseville with her spouse, 3 rambunctious boys, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and she usually has a litter of foster kittens running around to add to the craziness of her house.

Dr. Cabrera, DVM

Cabrera, from the Latin root Capra, means "keeper of goats" so it is no surprise that Dr. Cabrera pursued Veterinary medicine as his profession.  Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Cabrera earned a Bachelor's degree in Genetics from UC Davis in 2004 and graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010.

Dr. Cabrera's professional interests include small animal medicine and dentistry, avian endoscopy and avian orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Cabrera, his wife, and 2 children share their home with Chloe , a chiweenie, and 4 chickens: Goldie, Rosie, Kanessa, and Vanessa.  In his spare time Dr, Cabrera enjoys gardening, fishing, and playing tickle monster with his kids.

Dr. Garvin, DVM

Dr. Garvin's journey into the field of veterinary medicine began when he was in high school volunteering at a local animal shelter.  The summer after high school was when he started working at a veterinary hospital, first as a kennel assistant (and later as a veterinary technician).  Providing compassionate care to animals, as well as a love for science is what drew Dr. Garvin into the field.

In 2011, Dr. Garvin graduated with honors from California State University, Northridge (with a B.S. in biology, and a minor in chemistry).  For veterinary school, he graduated from University of California, Davis in 2015.  After completing a 1-year rotating internship in Santa Rosa, Dr. Garvin entered small animal general practice.  Small animal medicine and dermatology are areas of special interest.

For fun, Dr. Garvin enjoys training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.  He lives with his significant other (Hayley), their sweet dog (Charlie), and their bad boy kitty (Chester).

Dr. Munevar, DVM

Dr. Jaquelyn Munevar has been passionate about helping animals since a very young age and enjoys caring for all walks of life. At the age of 10, she started a neighborhood pet care business, called “Jackie’s Pet Care”, providing low cost animal care and enrichment services for 8 years to countless dogs, cats, and companion exotics.

Dr. Munevar graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine with a focus in small animal medicine as well as avian and exotic animal medicine. Before veterinary school, she received her bachelor degree at Cornell University, double majoring in Biology and Animal Science. Upon receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, she completed a year-long internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center. Dr. Munevar was then accepted into a specialty internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists, where she received additional year-long training in avian and exotic animal medicine.

When she is not helping her furry/feathered/scaly friends, Dr. Munevar enjoys outdoor adventures, traveling, painting, tennis, baking, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering at wildlife conservation centers. You may not know that she is not the only Dr. Munevar in town -- her husband is also a veterinarian!
